What to Eat Before You Exercise?

You do not want to eat a high calorie meal or fatty meal before a workout; it will make you feel sluggish, and or pukie.  

 

The best pre-workout meals are higher in carbohydrates; meals such as oatmeal, yogurt, or peanut butter toast on whole wheat bread are great pre-workout meals.

 

What to Eat After You Exercise?

 

After a good workout your body is starving for proteins, so a meal high in protein, i.e. chicken, turkey, or lean meats, would be a good idea.  You also want to consider the number of calories you are taking in.  You would not want to counterbalance the calories you burned while exercising.
